Summary: A 2-year clinical case series on closing anterior black triangles with the Bioclear injection moulding technique and Bioclear Black Triangle matrices. Seven patients received 36 restorations between the canines (24 upper, 12 lower). At 2 years every restoration was still in place (100% survival), with no fractures, detachment, secondary caries or colour change, and probing depths stayed at 3 mm or less. Loss of gloss and gingival bleeding were linked to plaque, which highlights the importance of hygiene and recall. Patients rated their satisfaction at a median of 9 out of 10.

Case 2: canine-to-canine black triangle closure before, during, at 2 weeks and at 2 years
Figure 3. Case 2. Canine-to-canine closure. At 2 years there is gingivitis and loss of polish, because the patient did not return for maintenance.
Case 2 radiographs at 2 weeks showing subgingival margin integrity
Figure 4. Case 2 radiographs at 2 weeks. Subgingival margins are intact, with no gaps or voids.
Case 3: lower central black triangle closure with small yellow matrices

Case 4: large yellow and green matrices in place, 2-week and 2-year results

Case 5: large red matrix in the distal lateral embrasure, 2-week and 2-year results

Case 6: two large yellow matrices between lateral and central incisor, 2-week and 2-year results

Case 7: lower anterior black triangles treated simultaneously with small red matrices
